Walking Our Talk

As Lung Association employees, we don’t want to breathe dirty air either. In our office, we lessen our negative impact on the environment in simple ways: most of our employees carpool, bus, or use some form of alternative transportation to get to work, and we have two natural gas vans for errands and to transport kids to our asthma camp.

In 1916, tuberculosis was a leading cause of death in Utah. Subsequently, 15 Utahns organized the Utah Public Health Association. In 1922, a black Ford truck called the “Tin Lizzy” traveled with Health Service Doctors and nurses around Utah. The Lung Association established its foundation on this mobile beginning.
