The Utah Transportation Association (UTA) plans on extending the line to Utah County. - Utah Clean Indoor Air Act- Though Utahns have the lowest smoking rates in the nation, the state has received poor marks in some of its tobacco policies. To receive an ‘A’ grade, Utah needs to raise its cigarette tax and require photo ID upon cigarette purchases. http://lungaction.org/
- The national ALA Website has rated each state on tobacco control. In January 2009, all private clubs and taverns will be smoke free.
- Senate Bill 32: In 2004 the state legislature approved a bill allowing children to carry and self administer asthma medication while at school
- HB 110- Improving the efficiency of state vehicles. Its primary reduction is to reduce fuel consumption.
- SB 13-Provides corporate and individual tax credit for renewable energy resources. These renewable energy sources include, solar, wind, geothermal, geothermal heat pumps, hydro, and biomass.
