Tobacco

Did you know...
  • Tobacco use kills more people than alcohol, drugs, homicide, suicide, car accidents, fires, and AIDS combined.
  • In Utah, tobacco kills around 1,100 people per year and another 140 to 260 adults, children, and teenagers die from exposure to secondhand smoke.

To prevent premature deaths, the American Lung Association is working with policy makers and the community to prevent people from smoking and to help smokers quit. We work with local businesses to create smoke-free environments and our certified facilitators teach teenagers to quit smoking.
