Lung Disease
There are an estimated 98,000 people in Utah with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), the nation's fourth leading cause of death. Included in the American Lung Association’s mission is helping those with lung disease — around 30 million Americans — breathe easier by funding research and providing support.

In 2004, the American Lung Association of Colorado began a partnership with the Colorado Coalition Against Tuberculosis (CCAT). CCAT reduces TB in Colorado by working with community partners to educate and activate health care providers, increase awareness in high-risk groups and the general population, and improve TB screening, diagnosis, and treatment.
